Nasi Goreng Spesial (Nasi Goreng Special) is a very popular dish in Indonesia. Nasi means cooked rice, and goreng means fried. Spesial means Special. Nasi Goreng is often served for breakfast and supper. There are several kinds of fried rice i.e. Nasi goreng kambing (lamb fried rice), nasi goreng ayam (chicken fried rice), nasi goreng ikan asin (salty fish fried rice), nasi goreng spesial (special nasi goreng) and nasi goreng seafood (seafood fried rice). Nasi Goreng is the unique cuisine from Indonesia,Malaysia and Singapore.

4 portions of white cooked rice
3 clove garlic
3 red chili pepper
2 spring onions
4 eggs (for omelet or fried egg)
2 sausages or slices of chicken, pork, beef, shrimps
1 table spoon kecap asin (salt soya sauce)
butter or oil
salt, pepper and sambal
First make an omelet(/egg) with the four eggs and a little bit salt. optional you can add some herbs. fry the omelet or normal egg in a frying pan with a little bit butter. after finishing this job you cut the omelet in small slices and put it apart for later.
now start to make the herbs for the nasi goreng. cut the shallots, garlic, red chilli pepper and spring onions till small parts and put them together. put a wok (a large frying pan) on a high fire and melt some butter. if the butter starts to get brown add the sliced shallots, garlic, red chilli pepper and spring onions and fry them for about two minutes. after about one minute reduce the fire otherwise the herbs will burn.
now you can cut the sausages (or the other stuff below) and add them to the frying herbs together with the sliced omelet. directly after this add the rice, the kecap asin, and a little bit salt, pepper and sambal (to taste). mix this all and let it get hot on a medium fire for about 10 minutes while stiring it regular.
put the nasi goreng in a dish or on plates and garnish with fresh tomato and cucumber.

4 cups cooled cooked rice
1 clove crushed garlic
1/2 tsp shrimp paste
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 medium onion
1 tsp chilli
2 tbsp oil
Slice the onion lengthwise, heat the oil and fry the onion, garlic, chilli and shrimp paste until the onion is soft. Add the rice and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly while constantly turning until every grain is coated. Then add the soya sauce and mix again until the colour is even throughout.
The rice should have taken on a nice orange-red tinge from the chilli powder. Cooked meat or prawns can be added with the soya sauce. Onion crisps (Goreng Bawang) is used as a garnish.
To make it ‘istimewa’ or special, a lightly fired egg, some cucumber slices and kerupuk (prawn crakers) are served on top of the rice.
